The Pepper Tree Restaurant and Beer Garden is seeking passionate and experienced Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. Located on the iconic Essendon City in VIC. The Pepper Tree is a cherished dining destination known for its warm atmosphere and commitment to quality. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a respected venue with a strong local reputation.

We are looking for dedicated and skilled culinary professionals to join our team. You must be committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations while contributing to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

• For Chefs: Leading and managing kitchen operations during shifts, contributing to menu development, preparing, and cooking dishes to a high standard, and ensuring exceptional food presentation and quality control.
• For Cooks: Preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace, and assisting the senior kitchen team as required.

The successful candidates will have:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience (2+ years preferred) as a Chef or Cook in a busy restaurant, cafe, or similar fast-paced environment.
• Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for creating great food.
• The ability to work efficiently and professionally under pressure.
• A team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., Commercial Cookery Certificate III or IV, or Diploma for senior roles).
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

The successful candidates will be offered:

A competitive salary based on experience, with opportunities for growth as the business evolves. The annual salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation.
