About the Roles  We are seeking dedicated and motivated individuals for the position of Unaccredited General Surgery Registrar. The positions are ideal for surgical trainees aiming to meet the requirements for application to various RACS SET streams. These roles offer a broad spectrum of surgical experiences, including rotations within General Surgery, SET leave coverage, and rural General Surgery rotations at Warrnambool and Warragul hospitals.

We provide robust support and guidance throughout the SET application process, while our strong collaborations with Monash University and the on-site research precinct present valuable opportunities for career advancement, skill development, and participation in innovative research initiatives. Appointments commence February 2026 for 12 months. 

About You   

  • Possess the appropriate clinical knowledge, skills, and experience required to undertake the role of General Surgery Registrar. 

  • Have relevant surgical experience at PGY4 or above in Australia. 

  • Hold, or are eligible for, General registration with AHPRA. 

  • Demonstrate comprehensive theoretical knowledge. 

  • Approach patient care holistically, appreciating the importance of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration. 

  • Exhibit well-developed interpersonal skills. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team. 

  • Show a strong interest in academic pursuits, including research. 

Mandatory requirements of the role:  

  • Current Drivers Licence  

  • All candidates will require Australian working rights.  

  • Two (2) completed referee reports (see below)
