About us

At the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), we take pride in being WA’s independent auditor of public sector finances and performance. Our purpose is to build transparency, trust, and accountability, ensuring public services work effectively for the people of Western Australia.

As part of the Performance Audit team, you’ll work to improve public services, brief Parliament ministers and analyse the performance of government programs and services. Your insights and recommendations will help Parliament make informed decisions and drive meaningful change for WA communities.

There are up to two (2) positions available for our 2026 graduate program.

Graduates are employed on a 12 month fixed term contract with opportunity for permanency at the end of the program, based on satisfactory performance and position funding. This process may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed term, full time or part time) within 12 months of the date of completion of the recruitment process.

Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident at the time of applying
  • Have graduated in 2024 or be on track to complete a university degree by the end of 2025 in any discipline
  • Be available to commence in February 2026

Throughout the recruitment process, you will be assessed against the Essential Technical and Leadership capabilities outlined in the attached Job Description Form.

Shortlisted candidates must be available during the week of 19 May 2025 for assessment centres and interviews at our Perth CBD office. Unsuccessful candidates can obtain feedback at the end of the recruitment process.

The Office conducts employment screening for successful applicants including national police clearance. An Australian Government Security Clearance may be undertaken if required for the role.
