WHMI operates across 4 Western Health campuses located at Western Health Footscray, Sunshine/Joan Kirner Hospital, Williamstown Hospital and Sunbury Community Hospital. WHMI Medical Imaging services include Computer Tomography (CT), Fluoroscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound and Digital X-ray. About The Role Western Health Medical Imaging seeks an Interventional Radiology Fellow for a full time 12 month period, commencing February 2026 The role of the Fellow is to provide radiological diagnosis, assist with procedural cases and clinical management of patients and undertake administrative duties for the Unit under the guidance and direction of the Department Head of Unit and Director of Radiology Training or Consultant Staff. Key Responsibilities Ensure notification to the appropriate consultant of patients referred to the Department, and provision of initial assessment of referred patients Ensure quality patient care via clinical assessment, admissions and development of management plans Provide day to day clinical management of patients and ensure attendance at ward rounds/handover Assume responsibility for patient care in accordance with the care model of the ward/unit, ensuring that required clinical procedures are performed with appropriate training and supervision Participate in the development of discharge plans that reflects the needs of patients and their significant others and demonstrates understanding of the role of community providers. Assume responsibility for communication with community providers Coordinate and participate in the teaching of junior doctors and medical students Job Plan - Core Clinical Work (Sessions Per Week) 7 sessions in area of subspecialty inclusive of one in subspecialty reporting (Post-TACE, Microwave, Radiofrequency, CT Angiography etc) 2 general sessions (CT/ US/ Fluoro/ XR) 1 academic session Relevant Multidisciplinary/Clinical meetings Participating in evening and weekend shifts On call to be negotiated About You Completion of Medical Degree (MBBS) or equivalent Hold current or eligible for medical registration with AHPRA Passed all Part II FRANZCR requirements or equivalent Commitment to undertake European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) exams Position Description Applications close at 11:59pm on 26 May 2025.
