This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Position Profile: The Child and Adolescent Health Service are seeking passionate and experienced Aboriginal Health Liaison Officers to negotiate and provide liaison with Aboriginal clients, their families and health professionals in the Child Development Service (CDS) for the development, planning and implementation of culturally appropriate health care. 

As the Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer, you will provide cultural support and consultancy across CDS services to improve the client journey.  Your responsibilities will include developing collaborative partnerships, effectively plan and organise your workload and work independently and as a member of the CDS multidisciplinary team regarding issues and strategies to develop culturally appropriate service delivery.

This position requires a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and health issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. About the Child Development Service:  The Child Development Service provides multidisciplinary assessment and intervention services to infant, children and young people with developmental delay or difficulties that impact on function, participation and/or the parent-child relationship.

Clinicians adopt a child and family-centred approach, working in partnership with families to address developmental concerns that are of priority to the family.

Our teams include Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists and other allied health professionals.

The Child Development Service provides services at approximately 18 locations across the metropolitan Perth area, as well as providing home, school and community visits as needed.
