Task & Responsibilities
1. Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and business activity statements.
2. Monitor the progress of the group's strategic goals to ensure financial targets are being met.
3. Work with the finance team to ensure reporting to Senior Management is the most efficient for effective decision making.
4. Develop the required business modelling of all growth opportunities to provide sufficient information that the team is confident in the decisions it makes about pursuing individual opportunities and that can then flow into the budgeting/management system going forward.
5. Oversee audit and preparation of annual financial statements.
6. Participate in establishing annual budgets, cash flows, and balance sheets. Overview monthly results including reporting on all costs over budget, participate with management to control all costs to ensure that we have the highest productivity at the lowest cost.
7. Analyse and interpret financial data to provide clear, actionable insights for our clients.
8.Manage and exceed client expectations with professional, personalized service.
9. Multiple priorities effectively, ensuring quality and timely delivery of services.
10. Preparation of complete and accurate audit work papers.
11. Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations
12. Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements.
13. Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
14. Maintain all accounting sub-ledgers.
15. Assisting with month-end process and journal entries to ensure compliance with deadlines.
16. Providing timely and accurate payment and account standing information.
Qualification & Experience
1. Tertiary degree in a related discipline
2. Minimum 1-3 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in the building and
construction industry.
3. Strong XERO / MYOB accounting skills.
4. Technical proficiency with MYOB & XERO accounting software and Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook.
3. Ability to maintain up to date knowledge of taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings.
5. Ability to accurately interpret taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings.
6. Confidence to advise clients based on sound knowledge
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Willingness to learn, show initiative and be a positive "team player".
