Our client in Fairfield East is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant (General) to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations within a growing and supportive business environment.
This role is focused on core accounting responsibilities — no auditing tasks required.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Prepare and review general ledger entries, journals, and month-end financial reports
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation regulations, including BAS, GST, and PAYG
- Provide advice on financial performance, cash flow, and cost control
- Collaborate with external accountants for year-end processes
- Liaise with management to provide regular financial insights and recommendations
- Maintain internal controls and contribute to process improvements
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent overseas qualification)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations and tax compliance
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar)
- High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and time management abilities
