ACCOUNTANT/PERSONAL ASSISTANT
About the Role:
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for supporting the financial compliance, cash flow, funds and tax management, debtors, creditors, fixed assets and other administrative aspects of the Company's operations. You will also assist with statutory closure and ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reports. You will also work closely with non-financial members to provide meaningful insights into the requirements of the business’s accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full accounting lifecycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting;
Preparing management accounts and analysis of financial position monthly;
Coordinate the month-end accounting process, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations across all entities;
Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts, daily balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly WIP reports;
Assist with the development and management of budgets;
Daily data entry, allocation and reconciliation of client expenses;
Vendor/Customer set up and administration;
Preparation and coding of manual invoices;
Tax preparation and lodgement: BAS (GST), FBT, PAYG;
Ensure compliance with statutory obligations;
Liaise with external auditors and oversee the maintenance of fixed asset registers, leases, and depreciation.
Maintain the integrity and security of the company’s internal accounting system
· Other accounting & finance related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Degree qualified, preferably Bachelor of Business/Commerce/Accounting.
CA/CPA qualified or working towards;
Proven experience and knowledge in the building, construction and hire industries;
Minimum 2 years’ post qualification experience as a Management Accountant preferably within the construction sector, experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly regarded;
Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards and Principles, including accounting for work in progress;
Experience in budgeting, planning and statutory reporting;
Proficiency with accounting and payroll software and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.;
General knowledge of employee taxes and WorkCover, superannuation, industry-based awards and employment-related legal matters;
Strong knowledge of accounting frameworks, financial reporting standards, and financial management principles;
Familiarity with tax compliance and investor relations.
Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with exceptional attention to detail;
the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders;
