It was established with a vision to provide high quality and professional care to children and families in Box Hill within Sydney. Their programs are challenging, engaging and nurturing and they understand that each child is a unique individual with independent learning needs.

The Role

The role for hire is an Accountant; it is a full-time role with an annual salary set between $80,000 to $90,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.

The Responsibilities

  • Effective management and processing of a large volume of invoices received by an organization for payment
  • Accountable for overseeing and processing payments to international suppliers
  • Assisting with managing the accounts receivable collection process, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding invoices and implementing strategies to minimize delinquent accounts
  • Overseeing the accounts email inbox, ensuring prompt responses to inquiries, organizing correspondence, and resolving matters related to invoices, payments, and account management
  • Handling the preparation of payments for BAS, Payroll Tax, PAYG, workers' union fees, and Child Support contributions
  • Managing and processing employee cash expense reimbursements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely disbursement of funds.
  • Overseeing the monthly reconciliation of supplier statements, ensuring accuracy and addressing any discrepancies
  • Assisting with the follow-up process for aged debtors by coordinating communications and assisting in efforts to recover overdue payments as needed
  • Collaborated in resolving internal and external customer and supplier inquiries and disputes
  • Conducting monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate transaction records and promptly address any discrepancies
  • Provide support to external auditors during the annual audit, ensuring timely access to requested documents and information
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management on an ad hoc basis

The Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
  • Must have at least 2 years of relevant Australian experience as accountant
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience working with the MYOB software
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial accounting and IFRS
  • Must have 2 years' intermediate knowledge and experience with company income tax and GST
  • Must have 2 years' experience with statutory reporting for BAS, Annual reports, ASIC and ATO reporting
  • Ability to organise, plan and manage, together with the capacity to prioritise for self and coordinate input from others to deliver timely results
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger processes
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and compliance requirements
  • Experience in liaising with external auditors and tax authorities
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
