Gunnebah Addiction Retreat is a family-run, residential recovery centre located in the lush Northern Rivers. We’re not a clinical facility—we’re a warm, supportive environment where people can start their journey of recovery with compassion and dignity.
Gunnebah Addiction Retreat is looking for a full-time Assistant Manager (Trainee) to join our team and help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. This is not a clinical or therapeutic role—it’s for someone who thrives in the operational side of a business. If you’re organised, proactive, and want to grow within a purpose-driven organisation, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in getting things done right
Takes initiative—sees what needs doing and jumps in to help
Wants to learn and grow into more responsibility over time
Enjoys variety and is happy to pitch in with anything – from admin tasks to coordinating logistics, assisting with stock orders, and supporting daily operations
Is positive, kind, and non-judgemental – we work with vulnerable people and compassion is key
Understands this role is about supporting the whole retreat – not about becoming a therapist
What you'll do:
Support the General Manager with day-to-day operations
Coordinate logistics like guest appointments, town runs, and stock orders
Assist with admin tasks (emails, records, receipts, bookings, etc.
Step in to help wherever needed – from guest support to facilities checks
Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes so our therapeutic team can do their best work
You’ll need:
A valid Driver’s Licence
Basic computer skills
Great people skills and a can-do attitude
A willingness to learn and grow with us
It’s a bonus if you have:
Experience with Google Workspace or Xero
Qualifications in business/administration
This is a hands-on, learn-as-you-go position with full training provided. You’ll be part of a supportive team in a beautiful rural location, making a real difference every day.
If you think you're the right person for the job, please apply via Seek and include a cover letter. Please do not contact the business directly.
