We engage and empower the Italian Australian community by delivering best practice services and programs in the aged care, education, culture and heritage sectors.

Role Overview:

We are seeking passionate and caring Aged Care Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality support services to clients so they can enjoy a safe and independent life in their own homes and community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting clients with domestic tasks, personal care, transport, meal preparation and other activities of daily living.

  • Ensuring that client’s rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living.

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients’ conditions and escalate observations and concerns in accordance with CO.AS.IT.’s policies and procedures.

  • Promoting and participating in activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends.

  • Adhering to CO.AS.IT.’s Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines in regard to manual handling and infection control.

  • Documenting accurate progress notes which detail activities performed within services and any concerns.

To best support our clients, we are looking for people with:

  • Certificate III (Aged Care OR Individual Support), OR Certificate IV (Disability) OR Bach (completed second-year study)/Dip of Nursing.

  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate.

  • A current Food Safety certificate.

  • Valid driver’s license and roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to the evolving needs of clients.

  • Excellent customer service skills where the clients’ best interests are the focus .

  • Strong understanding of community care and a dedication to delivering high standards for clients and families.

  • Experience in a home care setting or providing domestic support is desirable.

  • Right to work in Australia.

  • Understanding of Italian culture or language (desirable).
