Aged or Disabled Carer

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aged or Disabled Carer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide personal care support to elderly clients, individuals with disabilities and ensuring their well-being by assisting with daily activities to enhance their quality of life. Tasks & responsibilities

• Personal Care Support: Provide respectful and sensitive assistance with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while preserving clients’ dignity and privacy.
• Mobility Assistance: Assist with safe transfers, repositioning, and use of mobility aids to support client independence and prevent injury.
• Medication Support: Provide timely medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed regimens, observing and reporting any changes in health or behavior.
• Daily Living Assistance: Support clients with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping, contributing to a safe and comfortable living environment.
• Companionship & Social Engagement: Offer emotional support, companionship, and encourage participation in social and recreational activities to reduce isolation and enhance wellbeing.
• Care Plan Implementation: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and care managers to follow and update individualized care plans, ensuring each client's unique needs and preferences are met.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate records of care provided and promptly report any significant changes in client condition, environment, or wellbeing to relevant supervisors.
• Empowering Independence: Promote client autonomy by encouraging involvement in decision-making and supporting them to achieve as much independence as possible.
• Ongoing Professional Development: Engage in continuous training and stay informed of best practices in personal and disability care to uphold the highest standards of service.

Qualifications & experience

• AQF Certificate III in Individual support or higher relevant qualification is preferred.
• 12 months full-time or equivalent part-time (at least 20 hours per week) or casual basis employment with proven experience is required in Aged / Disability Care Services.
• Previous experience in personal care, disability support, or a similar role is essential.
• Valid Australian driver’s license is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a compassionate, patient approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid National Police Check, Working with Children Check and other NDIS entry level certificates are required.
• First Aid, Manual Handling and CPR Certificate is required.
