Application Developer (Python + AWS)

Location: Melbourne, AustraliaWork Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site at Client offices Tuesday to Thursday, Remote Monday & Friday)Employment Type: Contract to Hire About the RoleWSN is seeking skilled Mid-Level Developers with expertise in Python, AWS, and Financial Services to place in a long-term consulting role with our client, a top financial services firm with an office in Melbourne. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain scalable financial applications, optimize cloud-based solutions, and contribute to the success of cutting-edge projects in the financial services sector. Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications in financial services.Work with AWS cloud services to deploy, manage, and optimize solutions.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Ensure best practices in software development, including testing, CI/CD, and security.Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems to enhance performance and scalability.Work effectively within a hybrid work environment, contributing both remotely and on-site. Required Qualifications & Experience:3-6 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Python.Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.).Experience working in financial services, with an understanding of industry-specific requirements and challenges.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
