Apprentice Welder \u002F Boilermaker

Pondeljak Engineering is a steel fabricator located in Brunswick VIC. We undertake a range of metalwork projects including structural steel for commercial and residential. We are currently seeking an apprentice to join the team.

You may be new starter, or a 1st or 2nd year apprentice looking to change employers.

Apprentice Welder – Full-time Apprenticeship

As our apprentice welder you will be challenged to learn in a supportive team of experienced tradesmen, and supported to complete the Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) (typically done at Melb Polytechnic - but not essential/based on where you live can be other).

Typical tasks will include:

• Interpret engineering drawings and plans to measure and cut steel components accurately

• Fabricate structural steel to the required quality standards

• Train in structural welding and fabrication

• Assist with site work

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

• A reliable attendee to work, and interested in hands on work to “make” things, i.e Metal Fabrication

• Motivated and proactive and take pride in doing a good job

• Show initiative and use problem solving skills to complete tasks 

• Prepared to undertake both Factory work and more active on-site work

• Have the ability to listen to instructions and understand the purpose of the given task

Desirable

• A reasonable level of mathematics knowledge such as basic trigonometry (i.e. radius and diameters, angles, triangles) is preferred to learn accurate measuring and marking out and “jigging".

• Manual drivers licence.
