Our participants, Our people, Our purpose

Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

The Fraud Fusion Taskforce and Integrity Capability Division drives the Agency’s integrity response and capability uplift as well as the coordination of the whole-of-government multi-agency Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT).

The Fraud Investigations Branch (the Branch) investigates and responds to internal and external fraud against the NDIS. Our Branch also represents the operational part of the Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT).

The Branch has several APS5 Investigator opportunities available in the Serious and Complex Non-Compliance and Fraud Investigations Teams of the Fraud Investigations Branch.

Serious and Complex Non-Compliance Team
The Serious and Complex Non-compliance team takes administrative action against serious non-compliant offenders (including providers, participants, and nominees) as an alternate or parallel treatment to criminal prosecution to disrupt fraud against the NDIS.

The Serious and Complex Non-Compliance team gather, analyse and assess information in relation to complex compliance matters, and undertake operational activity to manage identified integrity and fraud risk.

Fraud Investigation Teams
The Fraud Investigation teams are responsible for undertaking general criminal investigations of serious and organised fraud against the NDIS – sometimes will we manage work via a ‘Strikeforce’ that targets and takes out known criminal networks committing fraud, in conjunction with our Fraud Fusion Taskforce partners.

We are also responsible for detecting and responding to allegations of fraud and corruption against the NDIS involving Agency employees, partner staff and contractors.

We use forensic accounting skills to investigate fraud and analyse financial information for use in criminal investigations and legal proceedings.
