- Job Reference #1329210Our Federal Government client is seeking a skilled Technical Advisor - Chemical Residues to join their dynamic team. This is your chance to make a real impact by ensuring Australian animal products meet stringent international residue standards, supporting market access, and contributing to global food safety.
Key Duties:
- Provide expert technical advice on chemical residue issues in Australian animal products for export.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to manage residue risks and ensure compliance with international standards.
- Monitor and interpret changes in importing country requirements, contributing to submissions for market access negotiations and international standard-setting.
- Maintain and update the department's database with the latest residue standards for animal commodities.
- Prepare high-quality briefing materials, correspondence, and scientific reports for government and trading partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams, industry stakeholders, and international partners to manage residue risks.
- Support laboratory audits, staff training, and other exciting projects as needed.
The Right Candidate: - Tertiary degree in agricultural/animal science, biological science, or chemistry (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
- Experience in analytical chemistry, with expertise in pesticide, veterinary medicine, or environmental contaminant residues in food.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to produce clear reports and engage stakeholders.
- Proven time management and ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
