Assistant Accountant (Maternity leave cover)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant for 12-month Maternity leave cover to support the timely, efficient, and accurate capture of unified PLS financial data. In this role, you will be responsible for providing key financial/commercial processes and tools that assist business partners across sites. Your contributions will help embed consistent PLS financial controls and provide commercial insights while identifying and mitigating risks to better inform our resourcing decisions and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and track vehicle details for financial reporting.
• Maintain and update ongoing costs using a ready reckoner for 2023/2024 and subsequent FBT years.
• Oversee NIB Health Insurance reconciliations.
• Reconcile deductions to expected costs and received invoices.
• Prepare and distribute employee monthly statements.
• Reconcile FBT balance sheet GL accounts.
• Manage electricity and gas payroll deductions.
• Complete the annual FBT return tax pack.
• Financial reporting for SOX compliance

What you will bring to the table:

• Previous experience in accounting or finance, ideally in an assistant accountant role.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of financial systems and processes, including reconciliations and tax reporting.
• Proficiency with Excel or similar financial tools.
