About the opportunity

Exciting new role for a experienced Nurse Midwife Educator to join Mercy Hospital Victoria Ltd Education Team as a Assistant Director Nursing and Midwifery Education. Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd Learning Team is committed to providing quality education by promoting excellence in professional practice through empowering Nurses and Midwives in the public health sector. This education role for the Women's and Children's Programs plays an integral role in leading and influencing quality education and professional development to build our future workforce.

  • Grade 5 Assistant Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education: Women's and Children's

  • Key leadership positions working at Werribee Mercy Hospital

  • Expert clinical advisor for educational strategies related to Women's and Children's

  • Develop and implement educational strategies for maternity, paediatric and neonatal education programs

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education and the education team to support clinical staff education and training (Undergraduate, Graduate and Post Graduate)

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Current Nursing/Midwifery registration with AHPRA

  • Post registration qualification in education required

  • Experience in leadership and management including the ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team

  • Advanced skills in educational design and implementation

  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing and midwifery workforce challenges and practices

  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.

  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Are you a senior educator who is passionate about affecting change through developing staff skill sets to improve patient outcomes? Are you outcomes driven and do you have skills to manage and provide oversight for strategy? Bring your expertise to our award winning organisation

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
