Journey Early Learning is growing, and we are welcoming a knowledgeable and like-minded AP officer to join us on our path to exceeding. As an Assistant Accountant working towards Financial Accountant, you will be reporting to the Financial Controller and support the Finance team.   This is a full-time opportunity and we welcome applicants that are seeking sponsorship (subclass 482 visa)

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Administration and on-boarding of new centres including business name registrations, regulatory applications, establishing supplier accounts, credit card applications 
  • Monthly BAS preparation and lodgement
  • Monthly Accruals and Prepayments
  • Monthly Salaries and Wages journal and other payroll accrual and reconciliation
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Loan journals and monthly reconciliations
  • Fixed Asset register maintenance and reconciliation to ledger
  • Assistance with bank reconciliation
  • Reporting requirements for 3 major hubs, including attendance of hub meetings 
  • Assist with the preparation of Management reporting pack and other month end reporting
  • General administration duties; scanning, filing, emailing, and responding to enquiries

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor qualified in Business or Commerce with Accounting Major
  • At least 1 years of experience within an accounting team
  • Proven ability to work with large volumes of transactions and invoices 
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as within a small team 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Experience with NetSuite, would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Experience in the childcare industry would be advantageous
  • Has commenced or looking to commence CPA or CA qualification 
  • It looking to move into a business partnership environment and willing to grow with the business
