ResponsibilitiesAs lawyer at Koffels, you will be part of a working group headed by a Special Counsel to whom you will report. Your responsibilities include:Assist the team with drafting of letters of advice to clients, pleadings, briefs to counsel and positions papers.Attend court for the necessary mentions and instruct barrister(s) at interlocutory applications and/or Hearings.Attend Mediations and Informal Settlement Conferences with the team’s Special Council.Be one of the firm’s first points of contact with new enquires, at which time you will be expected to take instructions and provide advice as to the merit of the claims of potential clients.Mentor law clerks About youExcellent spoken and written communication skills in support of client interaction.Excellent technical skills and experience in the preparation of court documents and daily correspondence. Ability to manage complex, high-value mattersAbility to liaise with third parties, including opposing solicitors, counsel and medical experts.Maintenance of diary management and schedulingA meticulous attention to detailA collaborative team spiritA client-focused mindset and a demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships.
