How will I help?Westpac Institutional Bank provides financial solutions to corporate, institutional, and government clients. We are seeking a highly motivated Associate or Senior Associate to join our Acquisition Finance & Originations team. This role is ideal for professionals with strong credit risk assessment skills and a keen interest in working on transactions involving private equity sponsors and leveraged borrowers.
You will also:
- Support the origination and execution of financing transactions, primarily involving private equity sponsors and borrowers with higher than usual financial leverage
- Assess the credit risk in such transactions and possess a strong analytical background and will look to develop credit analysis skills
- Ensure the effective delivery of financial products while utilising internal systems efficiently to meet the needs of both borrowers and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with external parties including private equity sponsors, borrowers and external advisors as part of due diligence process and collaborate internally with Credit, Internal Legal, Relationship Management and Portfolio Management
- Assist Directors and Associate Directors in executing new financing opportunities and material changes to financing arrangements with existing customers
- Perform due diligence and prepare high-quality credit risk analyses, including financial modelling
- Partner with relationship, syndications, agency, and risk teams to ensure seamless deal execution
- Support sector and portfolio reporting for the team

- Strong cash flow modelling and credit writing skills
