Our valued client, Talyer Auto Geelong, a reputable and well-established automotive service centre, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Motor Mechanic to join their expert team. Located in North Geelong, Victoria, they are renowned for their commitment to providing top-quality service and repairs. As an Automotive Motor Mechanic, the candidate will play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. You will uphold the highest standards of workmanship and customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a passion for vehicles, and a dedication to delivering reliable results.

Annual Salary: $73,150 to $80,000 plus superannuation Responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose mechanical issues in engines and vehicle components.
  • Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts for evaluation.
  • Repair or replace defective components, and reassemble mechanical systems, consulting service manuals as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Reassemble engines and components after completing repairs.
  • Test and adjust mechanical parts post-repair to ensure proper operation.
  • Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to assess vehicle components.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and provide recommendations for repairs.
  • Provide roadside assistance and attend to vehicle breakdowns as required.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records for all vehicles.
  • Ensure that repair work is conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
  • Should have more than three (3) years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Motor Mechanic.
