J&F Motors is a long established European vehicle service centre located in Richmond for over 50 years, specialising in European vehicles predominantly Volkswagen and Audi.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The Motor Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motor vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers.

Key duties:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and safety checks according to manufacturer standards.

• Replace and install engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vital components.

• Conduct engine tuning, system adjustments, and final performance testing.

• Communicate clearly with customers about required repairs and maintenance options.

• Keep detailed records of work completed and parts used.

• Inspect vehicles and road test before and after maintenance and repairs.

• Operating workshop machinery and tools.

The successful applicant will be required to have:

• AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in vehicle repairs and maintenance in the past 5 years.

• A valid & current manual drivers licence

• A reliable & trustworthy work ethic

• Volkswagen / Audi experience is preferred but not essential

• Excellent communication and problem solving skills

• Be self motivated & able to work in a team environment
