Automotive Trimmer Upholsterer

Custom Air Group is an established business with 33 years experience specialising in Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of Custom Air Conditioning systems & Customised Sleeper Cabin Fit outs. Our Head Office & Factory is based in Somerton Victoria. 

We have several divisions that make up our company which cover Design, Metal Fabrication, Assembly, Painting, Installation & Automotive Trimming. We are in the market for an Automotive Trimmer who can bring in their expertise to our business and hit the ground running. Ideal Candidate would be seeking reduced hours or semi retired. Hours are negotiable on application.

With custom design work received from our clients regularly, you will be able to showcase your skills.

Education & Experience - preferred but not essential:

• Experience in automotive or furniture upholstery

• Sewing experience prefered but not esential

• Experience using hand tools 

• General factory experience working in a fast passed environment

• Able to read and speak good English

• Basic computer knowledge preferred

• Additional Training provided for the right candidate

• Skilled in operating air tools (staple guns, nail guns, Glue sprayers, drills etc...)

• A positive & motivated attitude who believes in contributing to a great team environment

• A great eye-for-detail in producing products of the highest quality for our customer

About the Role:

• Complete upholstering/Trimming duties as directed

• Cutting, measuring, gluing & fitting with Vinyl & Material 

• Use various upholstering tools necessary to complete job

• Some machine operator tasks

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Ability to measure accurately and correctly the first time

• Ability to cross check measurements taken

• Document and electronically file all drawings where required 

• Communicate clearly with clients & colleagues on custom design tasks, including conceptual designs and proposals.

• Ability to adhere to OH & S Policies

• Self motivated and enthusiastic
