Cloud Security Specialist - Sydney - Permanent Full Time - Hybrid - Up to $165k base + super +12.5% bonus The Senior Cloud Security Specialist will play a key role in strengthening and advancing the organisation’s information security framework by implementing new initiatives and technologies while managing existing security controls and processes. Responsibilities Design, implement, and uphold robust cybersecurity controls to protect the organisation's systems and services.Manage and optimize security technologies, including network and web application firewalls, proxies, data loss prevention, identity and access management, and security information and event management (SIEM).Architect and assess cloud environments to ensure compliance with security best practices, industry standards, and architectural design principles, utilizing infrastructure as code solutions.Perform ongoing risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and threat modeling to identify and address security gaps in cloud assets.Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across multi-cloud environments.Investigate and respond to security incidents, analyzing root causes, minimizing impact, and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.Leverage threat intelligence to anticipate and counter emerging cyber threats with proactive security strategies.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for code, platforms, and services to align with established security and compliance standards.Provide strategic recommendations to management on the security, efficiency, and long-term sustainability of the technology environment, ensuring continuous alignment with business needs. Skills/Qualifications At least 5 years dedicated experience to cloud security.Relevant cloud and security certifications (AWS, Palo Alto, Zscaler) are highly regarded.Hands-on experience with AWS, preferably in highly regulated environments.Deep understanding of cloud security principles, architectures, and industry best practices.Extensive knowledge of information security technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable collaborating within a team environment.
