About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, QT Sydney is looking for an outgoing, hands-on Bar Manager for Gowings to drive exceptional experience, lead a team with passion, curate cocktail lists and work with sommeliers in creating a beverage program. Gowings bar is the forefront of our hatted restaurant, Gowings. We are looking to work with someone with a passion for looking after people and loves working in a fast-paced environment. You will be chiefly focused on the operation of the bar, development of its beverage program, leading, training and developing a team while assisting in the day-to-day running of the venue. There will be growth and expansion for this role with upcoming projects on the way.

Your Duties

•  Assist in leading and developing a strong and well-established FOH and BOH team.
• Manage the day-to-day operations ensuring that the level of customer service is consistently in line with our brand standards.
• Maintain an exceptional level of service and delivery of our cocktail and spirits program,
• Perform monthly stock takes on all beverage stock and complete timely reporting of inventory management findings.
• Have a confident level of knowledge in wines/spirits/cocktails and be able to contribute and elevate the development of our beverage offering.
• Maintain operations within budgetary requirements.
• Attend our weekly management meetings and contribute agenda points by sharing issues and observations.
• Assist in staff rostering and developing training plans for all outlet Team Members.
• Motivate and inspire our team to achieve great results.
• Have an understanding of all licensing and operating legislation which affects the department including the Liquor Act.
• Assist guests with all enquiries and complaints while providing accurate information to guests about property facilities and features.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and care of all equipment and materials
• Collaborate with the Venue Manager on events and promotions.

About You

• Previous experience as a Bar Manager in a high-volume bar
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Knowledge of bar inventory management and ordering processes
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
• A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding service
