An exciting opportunity has presented itself for an individual to join Southern Australia’s largest marine precinct ‘DockYard’ as a Yard Hand on a full-time basis.
The current ‘DockYard’ site spans over an area of close to 18Ha and includes but isn’t limited to the following facilities:
Indoor and outdoor hardstand area for over 100 vessels
Lifting capacity for vessels up to 150T
Marina with berthing for 75 vessels
On-site marine services tenancies
Indoor and outdoor trailer boat/caravan storage
Trailer boat launching facility
Considerable investment continues to be made into the precinct including the recent opening of our Mega Sheds and office spaces. This combined with the purchase of a 150T Marine Travelift has increased our ability to accommodate the needs of larger commercial and recreational vessels.
About the role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your tasks will consist of but are not limited to:
The safe and efficient guidance of vessel lifting and hardstanding procedures in consultation with the operator
High pressure cleaning of vessel hulls
Operation of forklifts to assist with yard work and customer needs
Working with team members to ensure all scheduled maintenance is completed
General grounds maintenance and tasks
Cleaning of yard areas and equipment
Successful applicants must have:
Willingness to learn on the job
Ability to work individually or as part of a team
An aptitude for following and enforcing OH&S guidelines and procedures
A current drivers licence
Reliable and punctual attitude
An interest in boating and the marine industry
As well as this, it is desired that the applicant would have the following qualifications and skillset:
Forklift licence
