Task & responsibilities
- Laying bricks, concrete blocks, and stone to build and repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
- Reading and interpreting building plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine materials and dimensions.
- Measuring distances using levels, plumb bobs, and rulers.
- Preparing and applying mortar to bricks or blocks and ensuring proper alignment.
- Cutting and shaping bricks and blocks to fit corners and edges.
- Using hand and power tools to construct walls and structures with precision.
- Repairing existing brickwork and restoring old structures where required.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and construction professionals on-site.
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
Salary & Employment Conditions:
- Salary: $80,000 plus Superannuation
- Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Qualification & Experience
- Relevant AQF Certificate III or higher in Bricklaying/Blocklaying preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in bricklaying or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools.
- Strong ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different job sites.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
