The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business and Intelligence Officer to join the Space Systems Branch Business Operations Team.

The APS 6 Business and Intelligence Officer will support the Business Operations Manager with Human Resource management, Workforce planning, and other ad-hoc administrative support. 

You will have a highly organised and detail oriented nature, along with possessing an ability to manage, competing priorities as this will be key to enabling delivery of the required business outcomes.

About our Team
Space Systems Branch acquires and sustains Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and GPS systems, and is a trusted advisor of SATCOM systems for the Australian Defence Organisation. SATCOM Systems Program Office within Space Systems Branch operates in a high-tempo and dynamic environment.

The team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly-skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, ADF and contracted personnel. The team works from Brindabella Park Offices in Canberra and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other government agencies.

The successful applicants will be part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of APS, ADF and contracted support to ensure the  SATCOM and GPS capabilities are supported in accordance with operational requirements, budget and service agreements.

Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience in performing the following duties as a requirement of this role: 

  • Manage and coordinate recruitment activities.
  • Manage resources and workforce requirements for APS and ADF vacant positions 
  • Applying and maintaining a high level of human resource management subject matter knowledge, with experience and skills across the Defence Human Resources function.
  • Understanding and applying legislative, regulatory and compliance requirements when providing advice on People issues.
  • Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and exchange information to achieve business outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively in a team based environment actively participating in and contributing to team meetings, and influencing the work area to achieve team objectives.
Eligibility

Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
