The Accent Brands team is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Buyer to propel the next phase of growth for our distinguished portfolio of brands, including Lacoste and UGG. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate in range architecture planning, product selection, storytelling, promotional strategy, and OTB management.
As the Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in curating profitable, trend-led assortments for the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) channel. Your ability to analyze local and global market trends, and align them with consumer behavior, will be key to delivering exceptional retail metrics. Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams including Buying Managers, Merchandising Leads, Marketing, D2C Retail Operations, and E-commerce teams, you will drive growth across sales, margin, stock turn, GMROI, and GMROM.
Your expertise in influencing both local and global stakeholders, combined with exceptional relationship-building skills, will be critical in executing the brand vision and ensuring success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Buying & Execution: Lead the development and execution of buying strategies aligned with broader business objectives and market trends, as directed by the Buying Manager.Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitor movements.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Cultivate strong relationships with local, regional, and global teams in merchandising, marketing, and D2C functions to ensure alignment and synergy across all areas.Inventory Optimization: Partner with the planner to manage inventory levels, ensuring stock availability while minimizing excess stock and markdowns.Sales Data Analysis: Leverage sales data to forecast demand and make informed purchasing decisions, aligning with seasonal trends, brand strategy, and evolving consumer behavior.Budget Management: Ensure purchasing decisions align with the buying budget, meeting financial targets and profitability goals.Product Assortment Management: Collaborate with local merchandising teams to ensure product assortments are on-brand and strategically positioned for the market.
Core Competencies:
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in a buying/planning role within the footwear, apparel, or accessories sector, preferably with experience in leading consumer product industries.Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Fashion, Sport, Surf, and Skate marketplaces and their unique trends.Skills: A blend of creativity, strategy, analytics, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.Autonomy & Teamwork: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders.Presentation Skills: Confidence in presenting and influencing both small and large internal teams.Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
