Are you passionate about crafting delightful and nutritious meals for children and families? Do you thrive in a creative, energetic environment where the joy of food meets fun? Our dynamic kids cafe located in Southland Westfield is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chef to lead our kitchen team. We are set to open by the end of June, and we’re looking for someone to start immediately in preparation for our grand opening!

You should be:

An experienced Chef, completely comfortable with managing all aspects of a kitchen, or;
An outstanding leader, coach, mentor and communicator
Creative culinary skills with the ability to craft a diverse menu.
A strong understanding of nutrition, especially in meals designed for children.
Role Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all areas of kitchen operations
Hands-on with prep, service and running dockets
Food preparation, and dish plating
Oversees and organises kitchen stock and ingredients, including all ordering and supplier relations
Manage a small team of 1-2 cookers
Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
Maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability, and training opportunities
Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
Works directly with the owners on menu creation, and weekly specials
Creating prep lists and development of par levels
Deliver great food consistently.
Ensuring all staff comply with OH&S regulations
