Vanilla Bakehouse in vibrant Eaton Mall, Oakleigh is one of Melbourne’s renowned destinations for Greek casual dining, special events, desserts and coffee.

We are a family run business with more than 45 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. We have recently renovated our casual dining space to reflect a modern atmosphere for our customers to enjoy 7 days a week, dining from early morning to late at night.

The Vanilla family is proud and excited to launch this new chapter and are seeking highly talented and experienced Cake Decorators & Pasty Chefs to support our Bakehouse team and continue to deliver delicious specialty cakes, biscuits and sweets.

A day in this role at Vanilla Bakehouse will include:

• Decorating cakes for various occasions including weddings, birthdays etc

• Cut, fill and decorate with buttercream

• Specialty Cakes working with Fondant

• Decorate cakes to a high standard

• Following daily production procedures

• Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment

• Upholding hygiene and food safety standards.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Extensive Experience using Buttercream and Fondant

• Demonstrate experience (5years +) with specialist knowledge in a high functioning pastry kitchen

• Show a high-level creativity with a strong attention to detail 

• Demonstrate techniques applicable to specialty cakes

• High attention to detail

• Work autonomously and alongside a cohesive team

• Highly reliable with the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment 

• Applicants must have the ability to work well in a team environment, contributing their passion and ideas with a positive attitude

• Must understand and apply Food Safety and OH&S policies and procedures
