Camp Cooks/Chefs (FIFO)

We are seeking two enthusiastic Camp Cooks/Chefs to join our team at a remote mining camp in the Northern Territory from early July to September. 

This contract role operates on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster (FIFO), perfect for those who enjoy a balanced work-life schedule. If you are a backpacker looking to see Australia from a different perspective, or a retired chef who wants to try something different, this is a great opportunity.

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious, nutritious meals for a team of 15 or so drillers and geologists who are exploring for minerals during the day.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rates based on experience
Travel: Flights from your hometown to Alice Springs covered then will drive to site from there

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for camp residents.
• Plan menus that cater to a variety of dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Order and manage kitchen supplies and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with camp management to create a positive dining experience.

Requirements:

• Current Drivers Licence (Manual preferred)
• Relevant Chef Qualifications in Cookery is highly desirable
• Having previous experience in a similar role, or in hospitality will work in your favour but are not mandatory. 
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and environments.
• A passion for cooking and providing exceptional meal experiences.
