We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent craftsmanship. We need the carpenter to have experience in both commercial and residential settings. Also experience in high rise apartment building is required.

Task & Responsibilities
  • Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Ordering and selecting timbers and materials and preparing layouts.
  • Cutting materials and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts.
  • Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards, and verifying trueness of structures.
  • Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames.
  • Cutting wood joints and assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
  • Constructing concrete formwork.
  • Repairing existing fittings.
  • Working with plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals.
  • Building window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
  • Laying out floorings, roofings, or drywalls ensuring they are level and compatible.
  • Carving and assembling furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items, and installing them where designated.
  • Inspecting places and conducting repairs or maintenance.
  • Building scaffolding and other construction structures.
  • Using power tools and hand tools such as saws, hammers, and rulers for precision work.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and always following health and safety guidelines.
Qualification & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience and a strong work ethic.
  • Certificate III in Carpentry. 
  • A team player with good communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to teach and guide younger, inexperienced carpenters.
  • Comply with all WH&S, government, and legal legislative requirements.
  • Holds a current driver’s licence and white card.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficient in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
