In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project drawings and specifications, procuring high-quality materials, and preparing precise construction layouts. You will cut, shape, and assemble materials, construct frameworks, install roofing and exterior cladding, and ensure the structural integrity of completed work. Additional responsibilities include crafting wood joints, constructing concrete formwork, performing repairs and maintenance on existing structures, and utilizing various materials such as plastic laminates and metals to deliver tailored carpentry solutions. Task & Responsibilities
- Analyzing drawings and specifications to accurately determine the required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures for each project.
- Procuring and selecting high-quality timbers and materials in alignment with project specifications and preparing precise construction layouts.
- Cutting materials to specified dimensions and assembling and nailing cut and shaped components to form structural elements.
- Constructing framework and roof structures, laying sub-flooring and floorboards, and meticulously verifying the alignment and structural integrity of completed work.
- Installing fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, and fitting door and window frames to meet design and quality standards.
- Assembling prefabricated wood components into structures and fittings, ensuring readiness for seamless installation.
- Crafting precise wood joints to achieve secure and cohesive assembly of structural and decorative elements.
- Constructing concrete formwork as necessary for foundations or structural components, adhering to engineering and safety standards.
- Conducting repairs and maintenance on existing structures and fittings, restoring functionality and enhancing durability.
- Utilizing materials such as plastic laminates, perspex, and metals to deliver tailored carpentry solutions that align with specific project requirements.
Qualification & Experience
- Relevant qualification in Carpentry
- Valid White Card
- Relevant experience in residential and commercial construction
- Proficient in framing, floor installation, and exterior cladding
- Skilled with carpentry tools, concrete formwork, and materials like laminates and metals
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented with a focus on quality and attention to detail
