Golding currently seeks a Casual Mining Supervisor (OCE) to be based on site at our Kogan Creek Mine which is located 3.5 hours west of Brisbane in between Dalby and Chinchilla on the Warrego HWY.

The successful candidate will have a hands on and can do approach as well as proven experience in an open cut coal mining environment. Golding have been operating at Kogan Creek Mine since 2006. This position will see you own the entire mining process onsite from topsoil clearing, drill & blast, load & haul, coaling, ROM and finally rehabilitation and everything in-between. Experience supervising a medium sized Truck Shovel/Dozer Push operation is highly regarded.

This role will operate on a casual basis providing coverage to sites fulltime OCE’S as required. The general roster for large leave coverage will be a rotating 7|7 even time roster. Accommodation will be provided to anyone living outside the area and local candidates could receive A housing allowance and are encouraged to apply.

Key role responsibilities

• Mentor and lead your mining crew to safely and efficiently deliver the production plan
• Effectively conduct shift handovers, prestart and toolbox meetings
• Assess the training requirements of your team and work with training specialist to develop and implement training plan to ensure correct skills are maintained
• Monitor and evaluate performance throughout the shift to identify variance from the production plan and act where necessary to ensure targets are met or exceeded
• Work with Maintenance Supervisors to implement maintenance plans for the shift
• Prepare accurate and timely shift reports
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly inspections and job observations
• Undertake the role of “Open Cut Examiner” fulfilling your responsibilities and duties as set out in Queensland CMSH Act & Regulations

Capability Requirements

• A Queensland Open Cut Examiner (OCE) Practicing Certificate is required
• A Queensland Gas certificate & RIIENV301E Conduct Atmospheric Monitoring is required
• G1, G2, G8 & G9 is required
• Standard 11, CBM & First Aid competencies are required
• Knowledge and experience in a front-line leadership role
• Demonstrated technical skills in operating various heavy mining equipment
• Sound social process skills and the ability to effectively lead a medium sized crew
• Demonstrated strong drive, energy and work efficiency
• Ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace
• Trainer and Assessor competency is highly desirable
