Charge Up Operator

The CSA Mine is located 11km north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9km deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines, operating 24/7 and employing over 500 people, including contractors.

We are seeking experienced Charge-Up Operators for a 1-year fixed term project at the iconic CSA Mine, Australia’s highest-grade copper mine. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with underground experience to work on a NEW in-house project with some of the best miners in the industry.

About the Role:

• Charging and blasting development and production headings in accordance with mine plans;
• Handling, transporting, and storing explosives safely and in compliance with regulations;
• Conducting pre- and post-blast inspections to ensure safety and compliance;
• Working collaboratively with the underground team to meet production targets;
• Maintaining high safety standards and adhering to site procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• Must hold a current NSW BEUL (Blasting Explosives User Licence);
• Proven experience in an underground mining charge-up role;
• Strong knowledge of explosives handling and blast patterns;
• A commitment to teamwork and site safety standards;
• Valid driver’s licence.

Conditions:

• 14/14 Roster;
• Camp accommodation & all meals provided;
• Flights from Sydney or Brisbane for FIFO candidates, or a DIDO option of those within driving distance to Cobar NSW;
• 1-year fixed term contract.
