As a part of a small team you will be responsible for all aspects of a functioning kitchen. With a made from scratch approach you will need to ensure you are up to date with new cooking styles to ensure food quality, latest food trends and also ensure efficiencies.
This is a hands-on position including, preparation, cooking, hygiene and cleaning on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and developing menus, updating menus according to seasonal ingredients
• Preparing and organising food in accordance with menu requirements and customer’s special/dietary requirements
• Monitoring procedures and ensuring food quality and presentation
• Managing kitchen stock, oversee the supplies ordering and costs
• Ensuring compliance of Food Safety Program, hygiene regulations and workplace safety regulations
• Training kitchen and service staff when applicable to ensure high level of customer service standards are maintained
• Maintaining a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
• Minimum Cert 3 in cookery/5+ years experience
• Understanding of Food Safety Systems, HACCP, Quality Assurance and OH&S
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task
• Flexibility and reliability
• Able to work unsupervised
We offer a salary in accordance with the Restaurant Industry Award MA0001199 (approximately 70K+ plus super package) depending on your skills and experience.

We are a small family run cafe/restaurant, open for breakfast & lunch Mon-Sat, breakfast Sundays and dinner Friday nights. We are located in a busy suburban village in inner-north Brisbane.
All food is prepared from scratch from fresh ingredients that are sourced locally (where possible). As a small team we rely on staff to assist one another during preparation and service.
We cater to functions and our loyal clientele.
