This isn't a typical Chef role, this role is the heart and soul of our Centre! We are looking for a passionate, bubbly and highly experienced Chef to join our team and make a difference in each child's day. This position will be a Full-Time Chef role working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be running the management of the day to day operations of the Kitchen. Expected Remuneration $70,000 to $80,000.
Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
• Plan and organise the preparation of meals
• Creating Weekly Menus in line with budgeting constraints
• Identify food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and parents
• Demonstrate Cooking/ Baking techniques across a variety of dishes to other kitchen staff
• Ensure dishes are produced with a focus on food quality standards and nutrition
• Stock take of products and ordering the required ingredients for the week
• Upholding food hygiene regulations in line with food safety documentation
• Coordinating Meal Service with the appropriate staff
• Allergy Management
• Ensure kitchen staff maintain a clean kitchen
• Audits of Kitchen utensils and equipment
• Train kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands
It is essential that you have the following skills:
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• 2 years of relevant experience
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Impeccable Personal Hygiene and High Standards of Cleanliness
• Exceptional Work Ethic
• High Attention to Detail PunctualYou will have experience in a Childcare kitchen, you will possess excellent knowledge of food safety practices, have experience in preparing meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements and adhere to the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines.
The successful person will be eager to learn and growwithin their role. You will be required to participate in centre events and functions.
The successful candidate will need to hold:
A Positive Notice Blue Card
Previous Experience Cooking in a Childcare Setting Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
Must hold Full FirstAid and CPR
Must be available Monday - Friday Full Time
You will be provided with a full induction and training in the kitchen.
