DEBBELA PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Head Chef and a Chef to join our team at Filicudi Italian Restaurant at Five Dock, NSW. Serving traditional Italian fare, Filicudi first opened its doors in 1979. Since then the team at Filicudi has been serving great pizzas, pasta and other Italian delights to their guests from across Sydney and beyond. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards are met, collaborating with the kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Task & Responsibilities
- Preparing a variety of Italian dishes including pasta and pizza from our menu and based on custom orders
- Mixing, kneading and preparing a wide variety of fresh pasta doughs
- Making fresh tomato, pesto and white cream sauces
- Prepare and cook antipasti and seafood dishes, according to the menu
- Cook food according to menu and customer and function/events demands in an efficient manner
- Examining of food stuffs to ensure quality
- Minimise food waste whilst preparing meals
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
- Cook appetizers, like mozzarella sticks, pizza bites, garlic breads and salads
- Recommend new recipes to update our menus
- Follow correct procedures to ensure proper food safety and hygiene requirements as per company standards
- Assist in training staff
- Communicate appropriately amongst management and peers and both front and back of house staff (kitchen and floor/waiting staff)
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum a Certificate IV in commercial cookery or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
