Job Description:
The Chef will be responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Indian cuisine, ensuring high-quality standards in taste and presentation. This role involves menu development, supervising kitchen operations, and maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of Indian dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts, ensuring excellence in flavor and consistency.
- Collaborate with management to develop innovative and seasonal menu offerings that align with customer preferences.
- Maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring all dishes meet the restaurant's specifications and standards.
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety and health regulations.
- Supervise, guide, and mentor kitchen staff to foster a productive and harmonious work environment.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels, manage supply orders, and minimize wastage to optimize operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement standardized recipes to ensure consistency in preparation and presentation.
- Occasionally engage with diners for feedback to enhance the restaurant’s culinary offerings.
- Assist in creating and executing menus for catering and special events as required.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is well-maintained and operational, promptly reporting any issues to management.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a similar role.
- Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
