Tasks & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Include…
Ensure food is cooked in accordance with restaurant standards and quality meets the anticipated level of fineness.
Cook the ingredients and season them according to different dishes in adherence with menu procedures and processes.
Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, presentation and manage day to day kitchen operations.
Prepare, develop recipes, plan menu, Weekend specials and provide estimations for private functions and orders.
Design dishes and prepare food in accordance with customer requirements, considering any dietary and cultural requirements.
Ensure high level of cleanliness maintained in kitchen, dish and storage areas and ensure every staff follows HACCP guidelines.
Prepare production list, estimate food requirements and ensure all supplies including ingredients are ordered, received and fully stocked at all times.
Manage and supervise the Kitchen team by setting excellent customer service initiatives, work examples and actively participate as a member of the management team.
Manage staffing levels, delegate tasks, train and mentor kitchen staff, cooking techniques and monitor controlling wastage portion.
Qualifications & experience
Relevant Australian Qualification/s (minimum of Certificate IV)
Minimum three years’ experience working in an Indian kitchen.
Flexible to work weekdays/weekend shifts
Ability to work under pressure and in a busy customer environment
Well versed in all kitchen sections, Indian food and passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experience.
Maintain and meet the legislated occupational health and safety standards, food safety and hygiene.
