Job types: Permanent full-time
Location: Oxford St, Darlinghurst NSW
Salary: $73,150/year (plus superannuation)

Key skills: 

·      Passionate about the hospitality, culinary, and retail industries.

·      Possessing extensive technical expertise encompassing various cooking methods and cuisines, especially Asian cuisines.

·      Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing staff during service. Proficient in communication, organisation, and maintaining high grooming standards.

·      A thorough understanding of kitchen hygiene protocols and occupational health and safety requirements is imperative.

Main responsibilities: 

·      Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and sourcing ingredients and supplies.

·      Overseeing the quality of dishes throughout preparation and final presentation.

·      Collaborating with managers, dietitians, kitchen, and service staff on food preparation matters.

·      Demonstrating culinary techniques and offering guidance on cooking methods.

·      Carrying out food preparation and cooking duties.

·      Explaining and ensuring adherence to hygiene and food safety standards.

·      May be involved in recruiting and training kitchen staff.

·      Occasionally responsible for freezing and storing food for preservation.

Other requirements are:

·      Work Eligibility: Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident preferred)

·      Qualifications: At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

·      Previous experience: At least 2 years working as a Chef

·      Language: Conversant in English
