Task & Responsibilities
- Menu planning and costing of menus
- Monitor and ensure the high quality of Food throughout preparation and presentation
- Prepare and cook meals safely and in a clean environment
- Full stock control and accountability for stock-takes, ordering and stock rotation
- Take charge of menu changes and specials, using your creativity to produce exciting plates
- Minimise wastage and ensure cost control for maximum business profitability
- Work closely with restaurant manager and front of house team
- Maintain clean and proper use of kitchen equipment and advice on repairs or improvements needed for greater efficiency
- Supervise and train kitchen staffs on proper cooking techniques
- Monitoring food handling, preparation, and presentation of dishes
- Ensure compliance with food and hygiene and implement safe work practices
- Handle complaints according to guidelines and in a way that leaves customers satisfied and impressed
Qualification & Experience
- Excellent English skills
- The right to work in Australia
- Certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant trade qualifications
- Minimum of one year of work experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills
- Leadership abilities and experience
- Commitment to hygiene, food safety and work health & safety
- Experience running a busy and multi-functional kitchen
