Alpha Global Catering Pty Limited on the hunt for passionate, talented junior sous chef and two chef de parties to join our dynamic kitchen team at Werri Waves Bistro by Symeon & Co – a vibrant seaside venue known for fresh produce, innovative menus, and a relaxed-yet-refined dining experience. As our Junior Sous Chef, you'll work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead by example, support the team, and help execute our seasonal menus with flair and precision and if you’re a skilled and enthusiastic CDP looking to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen, we want to hear from you!

Task & Responsibilities
- Work with the Head Chef to plan menus, estimate food costs, and ordering food supplies
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- To prepare and present all food items for the restaurant, ensuring all standards and procedures are maintained
- Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- To maintain the highest level of cleanliness in all kitchen sections ensuring all equipment and utensils are correctly stored at the conclusion of rostered shift.
- To ensure the ordering of all food items is carried out for the assigned section in consultation with the Head Chef
- All other duties as are directed by the Head Chef
- Ensure that that all plant and equipment are maintained and cared for.
- Follow the restaurants daily cleaning roster and waste disposal practices.
- Ensure all employees are adhering to Workplace Health and Food Safety Standards Australia as outlined in the manual.
- All WH&S incidents to be documented including procedure applied to ensure prevention of all future occurrences.
- Perform stock take on a daily basis and replenish appropriate items as required.
- Any other reasonable duties as directed by the managing director from time to time.
Qualification & Experience
- Formal culinary trade qualification plus one year full time experience, alternatively 3 years of full time experience
- Degree in the Culinary Arts preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
