Position Summary:
· In conjunction with the Head Chef, responsible for day to day running of the kitchen.
· Prepare/cook food to order and work with FOH Restaurant Manger to ensure best possible service is provided.
· Responsible for the running of the kitchen and staff in the absence of Head Chef.
Duties and Responsibilities:
KITCHEN OPERATIONS
· Ensuring the highest food quality, hygiene and service standards are maintained.
· Preparation of all food for restaurant service and takeaway to meet the quality requirements.
· Cook food to order as required to an exceptional standard.
· Be proactive, anticipate, organised, ensuring smooth running of kitchen operations, including cleaning and dishes duties.
· Ensure performance exceeds the required standards. Discuss food preparation issues with the head chef and FOH managers.
· Ensure a professional and positive attitude at all times in your dealings with fellow staff and suppliers.
· Maintain a hygienic, professional appearance at all times and deal with issues as they arise, ensuring the food safety of the business is maintained.
· Ensure kitchen, equipment, benches, fridges and floors are clean at all times and maintained at a hygienic standard.
· Ensure kitchen is restocked, prepared and all cleaning duties are completed at opening and close of business where required, to ensure restaurant is ready for business on time.
PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION
· Provide suggestions on menus planning periodically to the head chef.
· Maintain an in-depth knowledge of food and beverage menu and options.
STAFF MANAGEMENT
· Create and maintain a positive and performance culture in the team.
· Lead by example in your actions and ensure your presentation is impeccable.
· Ensure performance exceeds the required standard, including Food Safe Standards and our Code of Conduct.
· Ensure training is provided to new staff where necessary.
· Perform any other reasonable duty required of you by management.

ü Ability to follow instructions from Head Chef or Restaurant Manager

Experience
ü Extensive experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry
Qualifications
ü Apprenticeship or Graduate qualifications in Hospitality (Cert III Commercial Cookery) or equivalent substantial experience
ü Food Safe compliance Knowledge and training
