Task & responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of dishes according to the tavern's menu and quality standards.
- Ensure all food preparation follows proper hygiene and safety regulations.
- Manage and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations.
- Assist in menu planning and recommend new dishes or specials.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of food to customers.
- Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently.
- Support the training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff
Qualification & experience
- Proven experience as a Chef
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques
- Creativity in menu planning
- Efficient in a fast-paced kitchen
- Maintain food safety standards and hold current certification.
- Be organised, motivated, responsible, accountable and be accustomed to meeting deadlines.
