Chef- Ayr

Description and requirements We have an exciting opportunity for a chef to join our Ayr Home. This is a Part-time role working approximately 6 shifts per fortnight with alternating weekends. There will also be the potential to pick up extra shifts as required. The Ayr Home Alva Beach is just a short drive from our Home and is home to a world-class diving experience, the SS Yongala and another gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Bordered by lush cane fields on one side, our aged care home has open outdoor areas with landscaped gardens where residents can enjoy a laid-back lifestyle in a quiet and relaxed environment. Regis Ayr has amenities such as a hair saloon, activity pavilion and a covered gazebo for socialising with friends and family. It is conveniently located near a medical precinct which includes a hospital, private medical practice, pharmacy and ambulance station. About The Role Supporting the Chef Manager with kitchen compliance including food safety, WHS and qualityStock control and orderingResident dietary managementKitchen and food cost managementProduction and delivery of high-quality mealsService excellence around all aspects of the dining experienceStrong front of house presence including communication with residents and familiesProvide leadership and guidance to the kitchen staff, ensuring a smooth operation About You Qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery) and/or experience working as a Cook or currently enrolledAged Care would be advantageous but not necessaryUnderstanding of special dietary needsTime management and interpersonal skillsWillingness to work as part of a broader catering team to continually improve the catering experience in our home. To work in residential aged care, you will need to provide satisfactory background checks, supply a NDIS worker screening clearance, and flu vaccinations, and certification proof. Why work for us?
