To be successful for this role, you must have the following:
- A relevant Diploma in Hospitality Management and at least two years of relevant work experience
- Highly professional cooking skills in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and passion for the industry
A successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties within the position:
- Planning menus, directing and supervising the food preparation and cooking activities.
- Following our existing recipes and innovating new recipes to provide varieties to make menu more exciting.
- Preparing, seasoning, cooking and presenting dishes in the best possible ways to meet customers’ expectation.
- Providing day-to-day direction and management in overall kitchen operations.
- Instructing and supervising cooks and other kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes.
- Being responsible for foodstuffs purchase, budgeting, order and qualify control.
- Overseeing sanitation practices to ensure that regulations and standards of cleanliness are always being strictly adhered to by all kitchen staff.
- Reporting food preparation issues to owner.
- Training other kitchen staff (e.g. cook, kitchen hand)
- Storing and rotating fresh produce.
- Salary: $73,500 - $77,500 per annum + superannuation
