Position overview –

Are you passionate about promoting health and wellness? Do you have a knack for creating engaging lifestyle programs? We are seeking a dynamic Health and Lifestyle Coordinator to join our team based in our Bowen Basin Villages.

You will play a key role in developing, promoting, and delivering a comprehensive range of health and wellbeing services to village residents of all ages and abilities. We are passionate about fostering a healthy lifestyle and providing support to our team members through innovative wellness programs and look forward to welcoming a new team member who shares our passion!

This is a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) role offered on an 8:6 roster. You will be required to travel between our villages in the Bowen Basin, so a current Australian driver's license is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and wellness programs tailored to the needs of our residents.
  • Oversee the implementation of exercise, fitness, sporting and recreational events and activities
  • Provide residents with varied sport recreation programs
  • Organise social events that cater for all residents on site
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellness initiatives.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to residents on health-related matters.
  • Present seminars/toolbox presentations or health promotion stands
  • Promote a culture of health and wellness within the community.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • University degree in Exercise Physiology, Human Movement, Sports Science, or similar allied health, or a Cert III and IV in Fitness.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Class ‘C’ manual Drivers License.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience working on a site-based environment in a similar role
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workloads
  • Additional university qualifications in health promotion, nutrition, physical education or similar.
  • Additional qualifications in group fitness (desirable).
  • Experience in developing and working with rehabilitation programs for injured workers (desirable).
